Just Getting Organized!

I've used Blogger in the past as my place for thoughts/ideas/promotion, but am finally moving into the 21st century with a website that puts everything in one place. I'm only a little tech-savvy, so we'll see how this goes.

In late 2022, I went down the YouTube rabbit hole of junk journal videos. There were dozens of content creators, all of whom assumed I would automatically understand their vocabulary.

I didn't.

Every profession/trade/organization has their own jargon that members use as a shortcut way of communicating. With certain words or phrases, they can cut out lengthy explanations and jump right to understanding. Of course, the use of these "shortcut" words also becomes exclusionary. If you're not in the know, you're in the cold.

Having spent nearly 40 years in the classroom, I thought a short series of videos that explained some of the terms might be in order to help newbies just joining the world of junk journaling. What I didn't expect was to love making them, and that I'd keep finding new ways to fold paper, play with content, or assemble these works of art.

For make no mistake, that is exactly what these journals are: artistic expressions created by an artist for the purpose of...well, the purposes are varied and for a different post entirely. :)
